U/NEPambulancedriver has it right. The GR2 and GR3 are actually tested to 450lbs on all stress points (shoulder straps, carrying handles, etc.). The great thing is how padded the back panel is is and the velcro'ed pockets it has, so you can put weight plates in without feeling the edges of the plates grinding against your back (I've had that with a couple packs).
