When there are two sides to a debate there is almost always a compromise. The same is true with cotton and polyester, a 50/50 blend of the two was soon invented to appease both sides of the debate. These 50/50 blends have a lot of advantages and very few disadvantages. They bring the best of both worlds to one t-shirt. They have the comfort and breathability of cotton with the durability of polyester. They aren't going to shrink as much and they aren't going to wrinkle as much. Of course, a 50/50 blend isn't going to be as comfortable as a 100% cotton shirt but it also isn't going to be as hot as a 100% polyester shirt. That's why its called a compromise.

If you're not a creative person, then might want to get help with the design and the font so that it's not hard to read and is visually appealing. Perhaps your T shirt printing company will be able to help for a fee.

Digital printing is another method that is used for t-shirt printing. This is printing method which is gaining popularity gradually. For printing the t-shirt, it is stretched on a frame below the ink jet printer head. The printing on the garment is done exactly as it is done on the paper. Inkjet transfer paper is used for printing the same design on large number of garments with ease. This method is good to choose if you want to reproduce certain photographic prints, logos or other multi-colored images.

As you can see, promotional t shirts are an interesting way to advertise your message. When designing your shirts, it's always best to keep in mind the end result that you want to achieve. Ask yourself, "What is my goal in doing this?", and this way you'll have a clearer understanding of how to design and print your custom apparel.

Another method is Direct To Garment (DTG) printing. This is a method of running the actual shirt through a printer which prints the image on to the shirt just as a standard in home ink jet printer would print out a document from your computer. There has been some talk in the design community of the ink drying or clumping up in these machines, but I have seen the work they do and it looks great and feels great on the shirt. This is a higher end option at this time with some printers going for around $25,000. You could get a used on for around $16,000, but it would take a lot of shirts to pay off that large of an investment.

If you work with a lot of colors, shading, or gradients. Photoshop is probably best for you. It doesn't have an auto-trace feature but it does have tons of other great tools at your disposal. I would suggest using YouTube and searching for tutorials, there are hundreds of them and they are honestly one of the easiest ways to learn the ropes.

Don't forget that baby clothes can also be used in a t-shirt quilt. How cute would it be to have your grandchild use a quilt made from your child's baby clothes? Very cute, actually.
