Building a shed in your backyard can be a rewarding experience if you have plans that will help you build your shed in a timely and cost-effective manner. Well this project came about when I realized I had accumulated a lot of junk over the years and didn't have places to store most of it, so I decided to build a storage shed. Don't make it larger than the shed base as roof run-off can pool and seep into your shed.

Without a proper plan you should not start building your shed as it will become a total failure. Once you have them cut, lay them on the roof and nail them into place. After setting out the blocks, make sure the blocks are all level in the ground and check to ensure they are level to each other.

Before building a shed, rules and regulations to be checked include your subdivision or community mandates and by-laws, as well.

The first consideration when find (visit) is deciding upon the location. Sheds don't need very strong foundations; a simple layer of concrete would do. But if the ground is prone to be frozen in winter, then the concrete foundation must be thinner. If you are planning on a larger shed, workshop or perhaps even an office, you may well require permanent foundations that extend underground a considerable distance.

Simple tools like hammers, saws, screwdrivers, levels, drills are required with material such as wood for siding, shingles for the roof and doors and windows. Pro Tip: For those up to going the extra-mile, secure the free end to the ground by driving one wooden stake into the Earth and nailing it to the brace board siding.
You are not leveling the ground, only the deck blocks. Use pressure-treated wood to build the shed. Building your own shed can be a challenge, but it's a very rewarding project. Different types of sheds can use different types of foundation and some of the smallest shed designs you can get probably don't require foundations at all.

You may prefer to build your shed on a concrete slab to protect it from water that might seep up from the ground. If you go with a steel panel roof, there is less of a load on the walls and they can be built with a thinner gauge steel product(cheaper). They also came with lumber cut sizes, which took all the guess work out because they made sure I bought the right amount of wood and had it cut to the perfect sizes.
