Now that my son is five months old, downloading our favorite shows is a popular family bonding activity. We can get the newest hits for kids like Jack's Big Music Show or Word World and we can also download shows that my husband and I liked as children, like The Muppet Show and Mr. Wizard's World to share with our baby. It is really convenient to download tv shows for my son.

I don't particularly like Elena Gilbert. She's a silly, shallow, self-centered creature, the sort of stereotypically pretty, popular teenage girl who makes real teenage girls blush with shame. The TV version of Elena is the same way, but the book takes the stereotype a wee bit further by making her a Southern girl. Elena Gilbert is actually the vacuous ice princess Scarlett O'Hara (who was actually quite intelligent, but played dumb to attract boys) was pretending to be. Compared to Elena, Scarlett is a Jimmy Carter-esque humanitarian. Much ado has been made about Bella Swan's helpless, self-destructive behavior in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, but Elena could wear that crown just as easily.

Miley Cyrus has been propelled to superstardom because of the success of the tv series. With spin off movies, a documentary called "Hannah Montana And Miley Cyrus : Best Of Both Worlds Concert" and albums, she has become a household name.

Jason Earles plays Miley's older brother Jackson in the TV show. Jason appeared as the stable boy who knew the secret of the Knights Templar treasure in the smash movie "National Treasure".

Of course, there are the many made-for-TV movies based upon books by Nora Roberts, Danielle Steel, and other authors that have filled time slots at Lifetime and the Hallmark Channel. What about series, though? In my search for a good example, I've found if anything comes closes it's typically a book or series geared toward younger readers. Pretty Little Liars airs currently airs on ABC Family, and Gossip Girl (based on Cecily Von Ziegesar's books) recently finished a lengthy run on the CW Network. Not all adaptations prove as popular as the books, however. Candace Bushnell's Lipstick Jungle and Gabriella Pierce's 666 Park Avenue did not last long on the small screen.

You can start by going to the TV networks website, like ABC, NBC, etc. These networks often have current episodes running online so you can watch TV on your computer. There are other sites that work with streaming video like Hulu or Fancast. You can also go to your favorite search engine and type in 'free watch TV online', 'tv shows to watch online', and other search terms and you'll find a bunch of different sites to look at.

Do you have a alter ego that leads you to kill people in your spare time? Do you like film shots and scenery of South Beach, Miami Florida? How about the two combined? Then you need watch Dexter free from all distractions. The Dexter TV show is about a blood spatter analyst, who works for the forensics department of the Miami Metro Police Department. Dexter Morgan is also a serial killer.

Season one is known for it's controversial scene where Hank encounters a nun in a church. There has been talk about removing this scene from the Californication DVDs.
